What Conditions Qualify as Urgent Care?
Not every concern is an emergency, but that doesn’t mean it can wait. Our team is here to help with urgent care cases that need attention soon but are not immediately life-threatening. These include:
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Decreased appetite or energy
- Coughing, sneezing, or nasal discharge
- Minor wounds or limping
- Itchy skin, ear infections, or rashes
- Eye irritation or redness
- Urinary issues (frequent urination, straining, accidents)
- Sudden behavioral changes or discomfort
If you're unsure, don’t hesitate to call (978) 526-9500. We’re happy to talk through the symptoms and guide you on the right path forward.

What Constitutes a True Pet Emergency?
Some conditions require advanced critical care and 24/7 monitoring, which we are not equipped to provide. For true emergencies, we recommend heading straight to a local emergency hospital. Emergencies include:
- Difficulty breathing
- Seizures
- Collapse or unresponsiveness
- Hit by a car or severe trauma
- Ingestion of a known toxin
- Uncontrolled bleeding
- Bloated or distended abdomen (especially in large dogs)
- Inability to urinate
